Simply Fish Livestock DOA Policy

At Simply Fish, we take livestock shipping seriously. We use premium heat packs, insulated poly boxes, and clearly label every shipment as live fish. In fact, we often spend more on packaging than we recover in shipping charges because getting your fish to you safely is our top priority.

All livestock is shipped using NZ Couriers Overnight Service.

Rural Deliveries
If you have a rural address, livestock must be collected from your nearest NZ Couriers depot unless otherwise agreed in writing. We are happy to advise which depot your order will be sent to - just email us at simplyfishnz@gmail.com.

We may ship directly to rural addresses at the customer's request; however, this is done entirely at the customer's risk. While we have had good success with two-day shipping in the past, we strongly recommend depot collection via the overnight network.

Dead on Arrival (DOA) Claims
In the unlikely event that livestock arrives deceased, please email us a clear photograph of the fish in the unopened bag within 2 hours of receiving your delivery.

Once verified, Simply Fish may, at our discretion, provide a replacement, store credit, or refund.

Important
Our DOA guarantee applies only to livestock that arrives deceased in the sealed shipping bag. Once livestock has been removed from the bag or the acclimation process has begun, responsibility for the livestock passes to the customer and the DOA guarantee no longer applies.

Simply Fish is not responsible for losses resulting from acclimation methods, water parameters, existing livestock, aquarium conditions, or other factors outside of our control.

If you have any questions about acclimating your new fish, please reach out, we're always happy to help.

A Final Note

While the above policy is designed to be clear and fair for everyone, we're aquarium hobbyists ourselves and understand that sometimes things don't go to plan.

If you ever have an issue with an order, please don't hesitate to flick us a quick email. We pride ourselves on being fair operators and genuinely value your long-term support. We'll always do our best to help find a reasonable solution and won't leave you hanging.

At the end of the day, we want you to enjoy the fishkeeping hobby as much as we do.
