The Black Ruby Barb is a stunning species known for its intense coloration and active, playful behavior. Males develop rich ruby-red tones across their body and fins, especially during breeding season, while females are more subtly colored but still attractive. Their black vertical bars and shimmering scales make them stand out in planted tanks. Best kept in groups, they display natural schooling behavior and are less prone to nipping when given space and companions.

• Temperature Range: 22–27°C

• pH Range: 6.0–7.5

• Recommended School Size: 6 or more

• Compatibility: Semi-peaceful; do best with other fast or active species

• Max Size: 6–7 cm
