Blue Cochu Tetra (Boehlkea fredcochui)

The Blue Cochu Tetra is a small, energetic tetra with a metallic blue body that reflects light beautifully as it darts around the tank. Its slender shape and active schooling nature make it a great choice for aquarists looking to add motion and vivid color to their setups. Best kept in groups, these tetras thrive in well-planted tanks with open swimming space. Though peaceful overall, they can be a bit nippy with slow or long-finned fish, so ideal tankmates are other fast-moving or similarly sized species.

• Recommended For: Community tanks with active, similarly sized fish

• Minimum Tank Size: 60 litres

• Temperature Range: 22–27°C

• pH Range: 6.0–7.5

• Recommended School Size: 6 or more

• Compatibility: Semi-peaceful; avoid slow or long-finned fish

• Max Size: 4.5–5 cm
