Yellow Dragon's Blood Peacock Cichlid (Aulonocara sp.)

The Yellow Dragon's Blood Peacock Cichlid is an incredibly colorful and popular cichlid known for its vibrant yellow body and bold red/orange accents, particularly in males. A hybrid variation of the Aulonocara peacock group, this cichlid is prized for its striking colors, especially during mating displays. While these cichlids are generally peaceful compared to other African cichlids, they can become territorial, especially when breeding. Native to the rocky environments of Lake Malawi, the Yellow Dragon's Blood Peacock thrives in well-maintained aquariums with plenty of hiding spots. This cichlid is an excellent addition to community tanks with other peaceful and robust fish.

• Minimum Tank Size: 150 litres

• Temperature Range: 24–28°C

• pH Range: 7.5–8.5

• Recommended School Size: 1 male with several females (males can be territorial)

• Compatibility: Peaceful but territorial; best with other non-aggressive cichlids or sturdy fish

• Max Size: 15–18 cm
