Cryptocoryne Green Gecko is a beautiful and hardy aquarium plant known for its compact growth and bright green leaves with subtle bronze to reddish tones through the centre. It is a great choice for adding natural colour, texture, and contrast to planted aquariums without needing high light or CO₂.
Supplied as a tissue culture, this plant arrives clean, pest-free, algae-free, and snail-free — making it ideal for aquascapers who want healthy plants without introducing unwanted hitchhikers into their aquarium.
Why it belongs in your tank
- Attractive green foliage – adds fresh colour and detail to planted aquariums
- Compact Cryptocoryne growth – great for foreground to midground planting
- Hardy and beginner-friendly – suitable for low tech and community aquariums
- Tissue culture quality – clean, sterile, and free from pests, algae, and snails
- Great aquascaping plant – works well around rocks, driftwood, and open planted areas
How to use it
Rinse off the tissue culture gel thoroughly, divide the plant into smaller portions, and plant into the substrate using aquascaping tweezers. Cryptocoryne Green Gecko is a root-feeding plant, so it will perform best in aquarium soil or with root tabs placed near the roots.
Like many Cryptocoryne species, it may experience some melting after being added to a new aquarium. This is normal. Once established, it will regrow and become a reliable, low-maintenance plant.
If you want an easy aquarium plant with bright green colour and a natural compact look, Cryptocoryne Green Gecko is an excellent choice for planted tanks and aquascapes.
