The Balloon Molly is a charming variant of the common molly, easily recognized by its rounded, balloon-like body and peaceful nature. It comes in a variety of colors—such as black, white, gold, and marbled—and is popular for its quirky shape and calm, social behavior. These livebearers do well in community aquariums with stable water parameters and plenty of swimming space. Due to their altered body shape, care should be taken to maintain good water quality and avoid overfeeding, as they can be more sensitive than standard mollies.

• Recommended For: Peaceful community aquariums

• Minimum Tank Size: 60 litres

• Temperature Range: 24–28°C

• pH Range: 7.0–8.5

• Recommended School Size: 3 or more (ideally 2 females per male)

• Compatibility: Peaceful; gets along with other calm, similarly sized fish

• Max Size: 5–7 cm
