The Bengal Loach, also known as the Queen Loach, is a striking freshwater species featuring alternating black and golden-yellow bands along its sleek body. Native to fast-flowing rivers in India and Bangladesh, this loach is energetic, intelligent, and constantly on the move. Best kept in groups, Bengal Loaches are social and entertaining, often forming playful hierarchies within the school. They are also excellent snail eaters, making them a popular choice for planted and community aquariums with pest snail issues.

• Recommended For: Peaceful to semi-aggressive community aquariums

• Minimum Tank Size: 120 litres

• Temperature Range: 24–28°C

• pH Range: 6.5–7.5

• Recommended School Size: 5 or more

• Compatibility: Peaceful but boisterous; best with medium-sized community fish

• Max Size: 12–15 cm
