Borelli Apistogramma

A peaceful dwarf cichlid with shimmering blue highlights and brilliant yellow colouring

The Borellii Apistogramma, also known as the Umbrella Cichlid, is one of the most peaceful and beginner-friendly Apistogramma species. Males display vibrant yellow bodies accented with iridescent blue highlights and elongated finnage, while females develop deeper yellow colouration, especially during breeding.

Ideal for planted aquariums, Borellii Apistogramma thrive in environments with driftwood, caves, leaf litter, and gentle water flow. Their calm temperament makes them an excellent choice for peaceful community aquariums, where they spend their time exploring the lower levels of the tank. Hardy and full of personality, they are a fantastic introduction to the world of dwarf cichlids.
