Cherry Barb (Puntius titteya)
The Cherry Barb is a vibrant and hardy freshwater fish known for its deep red coloration—especially in males—and peaceful temperament. These active yet gentle fish are ideal for beginners and thrive in planted aquariums where they feel secure and show off their best colors. Males develop a rich cherry-red hue during breeding or when kept in good conditions, while females are more subdued in tone. Cherry Barbs are best kept in schools and add dynamic color and motion to any community setup.
