The Chocolate Cichlid is a majestic, slow-growing species admired for its deep brown coloration with golden or greenish highlights and its surprisingly gentle temperament. Native to the Amazon basin, this cichlid is far less aggressive than many of its relatives, making it suitable for peaceful large community setups with other similarly sized fish. They enjoy spacious, well-planted tanks with hiding spots and thrive on a varied omnivorous diet.

• Temperature Range: 24–28°C

• pH Range: 6.0–7.5

• Recommended School Size: Can be kept singly or as a bonded pair

• Compatibility: Peaceful; great with other non-aggressive medium-to-large fish
