Ideal for Reef Aquariums
Balling Magnesium Mix is ideal for reef aquariums where magnesium is gradually consumed and needs to be replenished in a controlled manner.
It forms the magnesium component of the Fauna Marin Balling Light System, allowing magnesium supplementation to be adjusted according to the individual consumption of the aquarium.
Mixing Instructions
2KG Pack
Dissolve 2KG of Balling Magnesium Mix in 3 litres of RO water.
Once completely dissolved, fill the container with RO water to approximately 5 litres.
The final volume may be slightly greater than 5 litres due to the dissolved salts. This is normal.
Do not add Fauna Marin Trace 1, Trace 2 or Trace 3 to the magnesium container.
1KG Pack
For a proportional smaller batch, dissolve 1KG in approximately 1.5 litres of RO water, then top up with RO water to approximately 2.5 litres.
Dosage
Dosage should be based on the measured magnesium consumption of your individual aquarium.
As a guide, approximately:
10ml of prepared solution per 100 litres increases magnesium by approximately 5mg/L.
Regularly test magnesium levels and adjust dosing to match the aquarium's consumption.
Fauna Marin recommends maintaining magnesium at approximately 1200–1350mg/L.
When dosing magnesium, calcium and carbonate solutions separately, allow approximately 10 minutes between each solution.
