The Figure 8 Pufferfish is a highly popular brackish species recognised for the distinctive “8”-shaped markings along its back. With its expressive eyes, interactive behaviour, and constant curiosity, this species quickly becomes the centrepiece of any aquarium.

Unlike many community fish, Figure 8 Puffers are intelligent hunters that enjoy exploring their environment and interacting with their owners. They require a brackish setup with excellent filtration, plenty of structure, and hard-shelled foods to help wear down their continuously growing teeth. While full of personality, they can be aggressive and fin-nippy, making them best suited to species-only or carefully planned setups.
