Frontosa Cichlid (Cyphotilapia frontosa)
The Frontosa Cichlid is a striking and majestic species, native to Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. Known for its large size and unique appearance, the Frontosa features a prominent hump on its head (called a nuchal hump) and a broad, powerful body. Their beautiful blue-gray or white coloration, coupled with their impressive size, makes them a standout in any aquarium. Frontosas are semi-aggressive and territorial, especially as they mature, so they are best kept in larger tanks with other robust, semi-aggressive fish. They are slow-moving and tend to be more peaceful with their own kind, but they should be kept with caution around smaller or more timid species.
