The Geophagus surinamensis, commonly called the Surinam Eartheater, is a beautiful South American cichlid with a shimmering silver body accented by red markings and iridescent blue-green highlights. True to its name, this species spends much of its time sifting sand through its mouth in search of food, making it a fascinating and functional addition to spacious aquariums. Despite its size, it is relatively peaceful and thrives in groups in tanks with soft substrate and calm tankmates.

All fish are shipped on Monday or Tuesday mornings via an overnight courier (Sometimes same day, location dependant). We use NZ Couriers for all livestock shipping, we find they handle your fish with the best possible care.
