JBL Sansibar River Substrate is a natural aquarium substrate designed to create a realistic and healthy environment for both freshwater and marine aquariums, as well as terrariums. Its coarse-grained, round-shaped natural sand is gentle on sensitive barbels, making it ideal for digging fish such as rays, kuhli loach, and catfish.

Usage Instructions:

Rinse Before Use: Thoroughly rinse the substrate with tap water to remove any abrasion caused during transit. (you can get away without rinsing if you dont stir the substrate up when filling!)

Layering: Spread the substrate over a nutrient substrate (such as JBL AquaBasis) to promote plant growth. For vigorous root development, a layer of approximately 6-8 cm is recommended.

Heating Cables: If using undergravel heating cables, ensure the substrate is of medium-fine to coarse grain size to allow proper water circulation.
