The Jewel Cichlid is a stunning and hardy species known for its vivid red body covered in iridescent blue-green spots. Native to West Africa, this fish becomes even more intensely colored during breeding. While incredibly beautiful, Jewel Cichlids are also known for their territorial and aggressive behavior, particularly when spawning, making them best suited for dedicated cichlid setups or larger aquariums with robust tankmates.

• Recommended For: Species-specific or semi-aggressive cichlid tanks

• Minimum Tank Size: 150 litres

• Temperature Range: 24–28°C

• pH Range: 6.5–7.5

• Recommended School Size: Best kept as a pair or small group (with space)

• Compatibility: Aggressive; pair with other similarly tempered fish

• Max Size: 15 cm
