Long Tentacle Toxic Green Goniopora
Long Tentacle Toxic Green Goniopora is a striking LPS coral that brings intense colour, soft movement, and a unique flower-like appearance to a reef aquarium. Commonly known as Flowerpot Coral, Goniopora are loved for their extended polyps that sway gently in the current, creating a flowing display that stands out beautifully in a mixed reef.
This variety shows vibrant toxic green colouration, making it a strong feature coral under both balanced white lighting and blue reef lighting. When fully extended, the long polyps can dramatically increase the coral’s visible size, creating a soft, full, bouquet-like effect across the aquascape.
Goniopora are best suited to stable reef aquariums and do well when given consistent care. They prefer low to moderate lighting, with a PAR range of around 100–200. Placement is usually best in the lower to middle areas of the tank, where the coral can receive steady but not excessive light.
Gentle to moderate indirect flow is ideal. The polyps should move lightly in the current without being blasted directly, as strong flow can cause the coral to retract and may damage the delicate tissue. Because of its long tentacles and full extension, this coral should be given plenty of space from neighbouring corals.
Long Tentacle Toxic Green Goniopora benefit strongly from regular feeding. While they are photosynthetic, they tend to do best with weekly offerings of fine particle coral foods, phytoplankton, or suitable LPS foods. Regular feeding can help support polyp extension, colour, and long-term health.

In a mixed reef, this Goniopora adds a completely different texture and movement compared with many other corals. Its long flowing polyps contrast beautifully against rockwork, SPS, zoas, and other LPS corals, making it a standout choice for reef keepers wanting colour and motion.
With stable parameters, gentle flow, and regular feeding, Long Tentacle Toxic Green Goniopora can become a stunning feature piece in a mature reef aquarium.
