The Marbled Hatchetfish is a peaceful, top-dwelling species prized for its distinctive hatchet-shaped body and intricate marbled silver and brown pattern. Native to the calm backwaters of the Amazon Basin, this fish prefers soft, slightly acidic water and a gentle current. It’s a natural jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential. Best kept in groups, Marbled Hatchetfish add elegant movement to the water’s surface and pair beautifully with other small, peaceful species.
