The McCulloch’s Rainbowfish is a stunning yet underrated species native to northern Australia. It displays a shimmering silver-blue body with soft gold highlights and faint horizontal striping that glows under good lighting. Peaceful and active, these rainbowfish thrive in planted aquariums with open swimming space and gentle water flow. When kept in groups, males develop more intense coloration and engage in dazzling courtship displays. Hardy and social, McCulloch’s Rainbows are an excellent choice for community tanks or Australian biotope setups.
