Ramshorn Snail (Planorbidae family)
The Ramshorn Snail is a unique and hardy freshwater snail, easily identified by its coiled, spiral-shaped shell, which can vary in color from translucent white to deep red or brown. Known for its ability to help keep aquariums clean, the Ramshorn Snail feeds on algae, detritus, and leftover food, making it an excellent natural cleaner for your tank. While peaceful and beneficial for planted aquariums, they can reproduce quickly in ideal conditions, so it’s essential to manage their population if necessary.
