The Royal Pleco, also known as the Royal Panaque, is a highly prized pleco species featuring a bold black-and-white striped body and a powerful, armored appearance. Native to the Amazon River Basin, this species is known for its ability to rasp on wood, which should always be provided in its habitat for both dietary and behavioral needs. Peaceful yet territorial with other bottom-dwellers, the Royal Pleco makes an impressive centerpiece for large aquariums with strong filtration and high oxygen levels.

• Temperature Range: 25–30°C

• Recommended School Size: Best kept singly due to territorial nature
