The Spotfin Hatchetfish is a fascinating top-dwelling species known for its distinctive hatchet-shaped body and shimmering silver colouration. Its standout feature is the subtle spotting in the fins, adding extra detail to this already unique fish. Adapted for life at the water’s surface, they are capable of short gliding jumps, making a secure lid essential.

Peaceful and best kept in groups, Spotfin Hatchetfish thrive in calm, well-planted aquariums with minimal surface disturbance. They prefer dim lighting and floating plants, which help them feel secure. A fantastic addition to peaceful community tanks, they occupy the top level while adding constant, subtle movement.
