The Tyre Track Eel is a fascinating and unique species known for its elongated body and intricate dark patterning that resembles tyre tracks running along its sides. Its curious personality and snake-like movement make it a standout addition to larger aquariums.

Naturally shy, this species thrives in tanks with soft sand for burrowing, plenty of hiding spots, and subdued lighting. Despite its peaceful nature, it is a predator and will consume smaller tankmates. With the right setup and care, Tyre Track Eels become interactive and engaging fish that often recognise their owners and actively explore the aquarium.
