API Pond Microbial Algae Clean
API Pond Microbial Algae Clean is a biological pond treatment designed to help control green water algae while also helping break down organic sludge and debris.
It’s a great option when your pond water itself has turned green or cloudy from suspended algae, rather than when you’re dealing with long strands of string algae attached to rocks, plants or pond liner.
Why Use Microbial Algae Clean?

Green Water vs String Algae
Microbial Algae Clean is primarily designed for green water — when microscopic algae is suspended throughout the water and makes the whole pond look green.
If you have long strands of algae attached to rocks, liner or waterfalls, we'd look at a different algae-control option such as API Pond Algaefix.
Simply Fish Recommends
Before treating the pond, remove as much obvious organic waste as you can.
Leaves, dead plant material, uneaten food and thick sludge all contribute nutrients that algae can use.
We'd also check that your pond pump and filtration are working properly rather than relying on treatment alone.
For persistent green-water problems, a Pond One ClearTec UV-C Clarifier can also be an excellent long-term solution.

Twice weekly for the first two weeks, then once weekly for ongoing maintenance.
